Shadow puppet and human wayang theatrical performances have been staged since 930 AD.

These performance pieces – when found – are quite old and come from Central Java.  I was told that these pieces are from the 1920s or 1930s.  In good shape.  The carving on the shield depicts the typical Wayang puppet head profile.

The kris can be held by the cord on the waist of the puppet figure (see photo #3)

An outstanding wall hanging.  Stands not included.  Shield:  29″ tall x 16″ at widest point.  Kris:  19′ long.  Circa early 1900s.  Authentic, from Central Java.

For the Serious Collector.
