These are statues used by Vodun priest(s) during a libation ceremonial or ritual. According from my U.S. source, these pieces were acquired directly from a priest in Ghana (Ewe people). The collector has possessed the pair for over 12 years.
Age is unknown. Notice the encrustations . . . of liquid and solid particles on these pieces. Made of cloth, wood and perhaps a few spirits.
