What can I say?  Nothing . .  that would adequately describe this Buddha head.

The crown of hair (aka Ushnisha) – one of the most iconic features of Buddhist art – is fully in tact with the common peppercorn-like curls (representing freedom) and moving upward to a flame point.

Acquired from a private collector of Buddhist art who claims to have acquired this head fragment in the late 1960s.  Little oxidation with excellent patina.  Age of casting unknown but most likely in the early- to mid-1900s.

For the Serious Collector.    Sold with stand.
