Kain kebat skirts are cotton and worn by women in local ceremonies as well as when groups of foreigners visit and hosted in the clan house. Worn to highlight feminine grace.
Sourced from Sarawak Malaysia, from a village along the Rajang river and about 3km from Kapit. Circa 1970’s . In very good condition.
This is an excellent example of the quality and tradition that is part of the making of Iban ritual textiles.
