A recently excavated 18th Century Shan period disciple sitting on a wire/wood base. Such statues are commonly found along the walls of temples. An authentic piece and very rare. . . . especially in this condition.
Charcoal or chalk were normally used to highlight facial features.
Acquired from an art collector who resides in Mandalay Myanmar. He was part of the excavation team. Very good condition on metal stand. Other stands not available. 12.5″ on stand. Alabaster Disciple only: 10″. For the Serious Collector.
