This was acquired from an estate of an Israeli archaeologist.  Nothing was provided about this jug except he spent his life on archaeological digs in the mideast.

This vessel seems very primitive to be a Greek or Roman Burial vessel.  It is more likely to be an ancient funerary vessel placed in the tomb of some semi-prominent Middle East grave site occupant. . . along with other personal and relevant artifacts.

A great conversation piece for those who have a special place for an antiquity . . .  coming from an expert in the field.  Stand not included.  In good condition.  9″ tall x 5.25″ at widest point.
