This censer was handmade for me in Nepal by skilled Tibetans. It is comprised of brass, copper, turquoise and coral. It also employs a cloisonné enameling technique were strips of semi-precious stones and wire are welded to a metal plate in the shape of the intended design. The spaces are filled with enamel paste, fired, ground smooth and – finally – polished.
There is a seated Buddha on an altar in the base of the burner with 3 holes for stick incense. This is a one-of-a-kind piece. Stands not included. 11″ tall x 4.5″ in diameter at base. 2.5″ in diameter on stem.
