Excavated in the 1950s in the Anuradhapura area . . .  on the site of Sri Lanka’s first capital city.

This red sandstone figure is quite eroded due to the nature of the soft stone.  It is a bust of a woman or goddess.  You can see the earrings and elaborate headdress.  Some reconstruction has been done on the piece.

The piece can stand upright with a slight lean to one side.  From a collector who traveled India and Sri Lanka during mid-1900s.

Stand not included.
