Acquired from a reputable antique dealer in Thailand during one of his visits to the United States in 1999.
He stated that this statue is from the late-1700s to the early-1800s. It is a bit on the crude side but that was the general nature of a statue from that period.
There are three additional Buddhas seated around the larger Buddha. Leaves of a Bodhi tree are behind the upper Buddha figure. All sit on a pedestal with other characters on the sides of the pedestal. On the back of this statue is another Buddha inside a shrine-like structure.
