It’s all in the clay.  The clay composition originated in China in around 1200 AD in the Fujian Province.

This tenmoku clay was known for its hardness and course grain. Glazing of this clay became quite an art. The process is carried on in this piece, from a factory in Malaysia.  The style and artwork is Malaysian

Acquired in Spain from an art dealer.  The dealer bought it from a pottery collector in Sarawak East Malaysia.   Stands not included.  6″ tall x 7″ at widest point.
