The Toraja are an ethnic group indigenous to a mountainous region of South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Figures like these were created for funeral rites . . .  to memorialize a deceased person or relative.

This particular statue was found in the late 1800s by a Canadian anthropologist.

A rare find.  5.2″ tall x  1.5″ in diameter.  Stand not included.
