This fragment of a serene Buddha statue  was damaged – most likely – during a Burmese raid into Thailand.

Purchased from a reputable Khmer relic collector / gallery owner in New Zealand.  The Khmer Empire (located in the northeast corner of Cambodia) flourished during the 9th through 13th Centuries.  Then it fell into the Dark Ages.

The prior owner claims that this head was part of a statue from the late 14th Century.  A stunning piece of Cambodian history,  displayed on a simple stand.  6.5″ tall on stand x 3″ at widest point.  For the Serious Collector.
