This is original artwork from a Baba Nyonya community (near Malacca) of artists who settled in west Malaysia in the 15th and 16 Century from China.
The phoenix and peony motif indicates that this painting (on porcelain) was given as a gift during a wedding ceremony. Circa mid-1900s. Framed in wood with metal hanger. In very good condition.
This is a rare find. 22.5″ wide x 15″ tall x 0.875″ thick.
